Posted March 23, 2009, 3:41 PM EST: Where do I begin to talk about this book!? This book is definitely a thriller that keeps you focused. You won't want to put this book down. Every detail puts the reader right in the scene. It can easily be made into a movie that I would definitely pay to see. Long after reading this thrilling novel I could still visualize the characters and the scenes playing over in my mind. When I thought I knew what was coming I was surprised over and over again all the way to the end! I have recommended The RestStop to my friends who have also bought copies.

Wow What can I say about "The Reststop, Jeff and Jeanine" by M.L. Jacobs? Ffrom the first page it hooks you. I will tell you the story started one way then it turned and took me by surprise. I was actually pretty shocked. I read it in one setting I couldn't put it down because every time you think you know what's going to happen something else would happen. I really love how the chapter's were, they were very fast paced and easy to read they gave you just enough of the story in one chapter which made you want to read the next chapter to find out what was going on.

Honestly I don't want to give too much away! You need to read it yourself it will be worth it. The story really makes you think if you really know the person that you meet online, or shoot, even in person, people only let you see what they want you to see.

It was a pleasure to read M.L. Jacobs book that's why I think reading is so cool, to know that the stories that authors write come out of their heads. For me since I'm not a writer it's great that other people do it for me, hehe It feeds my book habit. If you don't have the Reststop, Jeff and Jeanine by M.L. Jacobs you need to pick it up today, you won't be sorry...

This wonderfully crafted tale takes place in the space of one evening, with the author using flashbacks to paint the slate of her creations. She took measures to slow the passing of time, instilling a sense of dread and gloom. Magnified by well proportioned chapters that jolt you in and out of the time stream, character lamentations were time on the clock. So were memories heralding their lusty Internet beginnings; an elevator ride and a walk down the hall is a journey within a journey, the author also using impatience as a tool to reveal the true nature of the beast.

Anticipation also affected the time sense. Jeff and Jeanine's surface reason for meeting at The RestStop was for a session of extreme sex. Their excitement was infectious, with mutually driven bliss giving rise to visions of past conquests, bathing the reader in soft flickering lights, the remembrance of past acts of hearty lustfulness.

With both parties claiming sexual abuse in their histories, the players were victims by their own right and pinpointing the antagonist will be a heavenly task for the reader. One person suffered from witnessing consistent acts of emotional neglect committed by a womanizer, while the other was traumatized by a domineering, disapproving mother, and a horrifying high school incident that leaves the recipient mentally crippled and in some sense, ageless. After the trauma was endured, the perpetrator extended the further courtesy of forgetting his victim.

Some of these missteps were a products of the last generation. These flashbacks also set the stage to avenge a wrong created in THIS generation, once again, rendering the attacker blameless.

Jeff was a product of his environment; he hated women. Or rather, he thought he did. Either way, his upbringing made not a lot of accommodations for women, ladies, or anything maternal., his only appreciation being that of unattached pleasure.

Perhaps one could classify this as a tale of Man vs. Self. Said issues were instilled into the players by generational devices, somewhat exonerating them, allowing the reader to feel empathetic for the characters, even at their most vile.

That being said, once you sprinkle themes of retribution and revenge into the equation, the true victim remains unclear and things begin to proceed in fashions unforeseen. A chance Internet meeting, they both join in on the orchestration of the engagement, with one party seeking to make a statement of the occasion.

Sex as a weapon; weapons of distraction, dominance, of degradation.

Miss Jacobs concoction is a tasty pleasure, a sweet treat.
